Who are we?
We are a group of Orthodox Christians in the Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri area who seek to establish an Orthodox parish that proclaims and lives out the Holy Orthodox Faith. Our goals are to shine the light of Orthodoxy on the people of the Kansas City area and to live as the icon of Christ, our Lord. Our parish conducts all services fully in English flavored by the use of the old historical languages (Arabic and Greek) in the true Orthodox tradition marked by sobriety and reverence.
We strive to provide opportunities for spiritual growth and development and to provide opportunities for social interaction beyond the times of worship. We have a dedicated choir that encourages participation by the whole congregation. The fundamental ministry of our parish is to provide pastoral care to our members and is proactive in reaching out to newcomers so they can fully understand and embrace the fullness of the One Holy Apostolic Faith.
As a local community we were founded in January 2002 by a small group of people that emigrated from the basin and the cradle of Christianity who are deeply rooted and committed to the Orthodox Christian life and practice.
Since our early genesis we set out to reach all the people who claim allegiance to Christ and His Holy Orthodox Faith of all nations, tribes, and stripes in accordance with our Antiochian Tradition of evangelism. Today, our community is endowed and reflect this rich mosaic tradition of national and international diversity that is united in love, share oneness of heart, and in like mindedness.
